Because county government, especially Montgomery county government, touches the issues that matter to me. I am a union member, a bicyclist, an environmentalist, and an unrepentant progressive.
My wife and I are at ages when we should be retired. Instead we find ourselves stepping up to the challenge of fighting for an even more progressive Montgomery County.
We need:
- Affordable housing for everyone
- Affordable healthcare for each of us
- Educational opportunity for everyone in the county
- Climate-friendly infrastructure and development
Montgomery County has an excellent base to build on, but we can do better. We can support working families better with affordable housing and a meaningful minimum wage, affordable healthcare and accessible quality education for everyone. We can work for a greener, climate-friendly county by making good decisions on open spaces, development and transportation. We can be a county that supports our community while supporting and respecting individuals as well as small businesses and local farmers.
